1. Do you think they hang horse thieves here? I am asking for a friend. And not myself. I did not accidentally steal someone's brown warmblood while drunkenly walking down the road.

2. The last thing I remember is yelling "it's high noon," but I'm pretty sure it was closer to midnight.

It has come to my attention that I may have spent time at your humble abode yesterday in the evening, during which time I may have inadvertently left one or more possessions. In specific, I am looking for what you might refer to as a "cowboy hat." I would be much obliged if you could remind me of your address so that I may retrieve my belongings.

I'd be happy to oblige you. Trouble is, I had a lot of visitors yesterday evening, and I'm not especially knowledgeable about hats from this region.

Is it the tall black one? I did find one of those.

Were you part of that 'scavenger hunt and expedition' party that we took to after a few drinks? Because it may be that you, or someone else, has hidden your hat in an extraordinary place as a result.

Dear Annie,

Your missive solves two mysteries but creates another. I am glad to know whose knife is in my possession. It did not look like mine. I suppose I will be tracking down my knife in another round of messaging.

In the meantime, I will happily return your knife and retrieve my hat. I will be by shortly. Do you like houseplants? I thought to get one as a token of my gratitude but I do not know if that is something people actually gift, or just something that seems to appear in an awful lot of books. I have not kept a house in a long time.

Thank you. I had hoped it was you since you're one of three people who left behind possessions. I have left over a scarf (blue, men's), and a single shoe. I'm still trying to figure out why just one shoe.

Next time there will be no bourbon after nine.

Yes, actually! When I was a kid one of my friends used to bring me cuttings from her grandfather's collection. I had at least seven different kinds of house plants from her. They're good for brightening up a space.

Bourbon after nine is indeed ill-advised, but I will admit I am capable of making bad decisions with many drinks. Better bourbon than tequila, though.

Neither the scarf nor the shoe are mine, but it sounds like you got a bit of a Cinderella situation on your hands. I hope that you find your prince or princess soon.

Glad to hear about the plant situation. Always preferred the greenery myself.

I am not an experienced drinker but, I have had shots of tequila before. The problem with the kinds I've had is it can be very sweet and tricks you into thinking you're fine. I got in trouble.

Hopefully soon, I was trying to be a good neighbor. This place is wild enough on it's own, having people build friendships benefits everyone when things go wild. There was a nasty flood recently, having everyone able to work together pretty well saved lives.

It keeps spirits up. This place is mostly peaceful when the "management" isn't feeling dramatic.
