Krauser's posturing, as V knows it to be just that, is taken in stride. There's little to gain from treating the man impatiently. And besides, it's not as if he can't appreciate the sentiment, the railing against the position they've been put in. There's certainly a part of him, however buried, that seethes at this forced propriety, the role they've all been press-ganged into, to say nothing of the simple removal from their own paths. And that part of him would like nothing more than to lash out as obviously and unilaterally as the man before him.

He doesn't. Instead his chin tips up as a frown tugs across his expression. He regards the practically snarling soldier evenly, yet again taking in the full picture of a man whose physical prowess is obvious compared to the shriveled scrap of a body V himself has to work with. And, in the end, he settles on a potential dangerous question.

"What luck have you had in resisting her pronouncements thus far?"
