[Fate really has a strange sense of humor. Rufus spent most of his life avoiding these kinds of balls or formal social functions- one of the best benefits of being considered dead after Meteorfall was there was no expectation of going to any formal public functions.
The butler who seems to have been assigned to him is an added annoyance and disappointment. He's spent his life never being alone but he's pretty sure this guy doesn't know as many fascinating ways of how to kill someone with a paperclip without wrinkling his suit as one of the Turks would.
But here he is, drink in hand as expected. He has no intention of getting drunk but if he's going to do this then he's going to at least take the edge off. No one recognizes him thankfully which is a small mercy that does feel a little freeing.
And that calls for another drink.]
Greenhouse Effect
[It doesn't take him long to find himself lost in the mass of greenery.
Rufus had never been fond of spending time in nature, it was always too green and dirty. Maybe he had too much to drink, it's way too hot, and the glimpses of what he assumes are some kind of spirits vanishing into the greenery doesn't help with the sense of disorientation.
He really doesn't like being lost or losing control of the situation, he has to focus on finding the damn exit.]
I'm starting to re-think the whole not destroying the environment thing.
[Something about nature getting revenge, it would be laughable if he wasn't stuck in some greenhouse maze.]
